Find the spot where regulation, transformation, and lasting clarity begin.
With over 25 years of Brainspotting research, growth, and infinite curiosity, this work continues to evolve — Sandra VanBoxel guides individuals in strengthening nervous system regulation, building self-resourcing skills, and uncovering the resilience that supports lasting transformation and clarity.
You are not a diagnosis. You are a person with an innate capacity for resilience, regulation, and transformation.
Your nervous system already knows the way.
Every person carries an innate capacity for regulation and resilience. Brainspotting helps us access the places where the nervous system has stored unresolved experiences, allowing your own brain and body to process them naturally.
In session, we locate a "brainspot" — a fixed point in your visual field tied to whatever you're carrying — and hold attention there while your brain does the rest. Brainspotting engages the brain and body to process experiences that cannot be accessed through conversation alone.
Developed by Dr. David Grand, Brainspotting complements a strength-based therapeutic approach by helping clients access the brain and body's natural capacity for processing, regulation, and integration. Brainspotting builds upon the resilience and inner resources each person already possesses.
Words create awareness.
The brain and body create integration.
Together, they create lasting change.
Meet Sandra VanBoxel.
For more than 45 years, I have had the privilege of walking alongside individuals seeking meaningful, lasting change. Over the past 25 years, Brainspotting has become an integral part of my work, deepening my understanding of how the brain, body, and nervous system support healing and transformation.
As an Advanced Brainspotting Practitioner and Consultant, I also provide consultation and training to clinicians. Whether I am working with clients or mentoring professionals, my approach is guided by curiosity, clinical integrity, and respect for each person's unique journey.
I believe people are more than a diagnosis. Every individual possesses an innate capacity for regulation, resilience, and growth. My role is to help clients recognize, strengthen, and build upon those inner resources while creating a safe, collaborative space for meaningful change.
My practice integrates Brainspotting with decades of clinical experience to support individuals experiencing trauma, addiction, codependency, anxiety, grief, chronic stress, performance challenges, and life transitions. Every session is individualized because no two stories — and no two people — are the same.
